Why patching is the whole ballgame
Most successful attacks on small businesses exploit known vulnerabilities with fixes that already existed. The patch was published. It just was not installed. Consistent patching closes the door attackers use most, which is why insurers, auditors, and security frameworks all ask about it first. It is unglamorous work. How our patching works
Microsoft releases security updates on the second Tuesday of every month, with emergency fixes in between. Our cycle follows that rhythm: updates are reviewed, deployed through Intune in your maintenance window, and then verified machine by machine. Critical security patches move ahead of schedule. Feature updates wait until they have proven stable, because new features are not worth broken printers. Machines that miss their window, laptops in trunks, PCs that were powered off, get chased until they are current.
Beyond Windows
Attackers do not stop at Windows, so neither does patching. We keep Microsoft 365 apps, browsers, and common business applications current too. One outdated browser or PDF reader can undo an otherwise clean environment, and standalone antivirus will not tell you it is there.
No surprise reboots
Updates install in maintenance windows you approve, with reboots scheduled and announced, never mid-invoice or during payroll. Users get warnings and a chance to finish their work. Hard deadlines are enforced only when a security patch cannot wait.

Is Windows Update by itself enough for a business?
